Grand Lake

Grand Lake is a 5,660 acre all-sports fresh water lake and is the 19th largest lake of Michigan's 11,000 inland lakes.  It is twelve miles in length and has an average width of two miles and the drive around it is 28 miles.  It is home to several pairs of the common loon, which are a protected water bird, several species of ducks, Canadian geese, and deer which can occasionally be seen on Grand Island. It is unique because it has an irregular shoreline with 19 named islands, which contributes to its exceptional beauty.
Because of its length and size Grand Lake is a boating paradise for people that enjoy pontoons, personal watercraft, speedboats, sailing, water-skiing, tubing, or wake boards.  Grand Lake fishing is noted for its bass, perch and walleye which are found in abundance.  There are four public sites, three picnic areas, and one rest area on the Grand Lake.
